WELCOME
Bachanalia Chamber Orchestra is an ensemble of star professional musicians founded in 1988 by the famed
Russian violin virtuoso emigre Nina Beilina. We present concerts of great classical music in a variety of venues
in New York City, Washington D. C. and other locations.
With the passing of its founder Nina Beilina in 2018, the ensemble is now being administered by her son, Violinist
Emil Chudnofsky as Artistic Director and the New York Composer David Winkler as Executive Director.
As a not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) organization, Bachanalia will maintain and expand the ensemble's original program
mission celebrating the works of J S Bach while also including other Baroque and Classical period masters and
contemporary works. Our next program is March 7, 2020 at Merkin Hall, New York City which will feature guest
soloists pianist Julia Zilberquit and violinist Michael Guttman. Other concerts will take place in Washington, D.C.
and at Drew University in Madison, NJ.
The ensemble's artistic mission also includes a commitment to the whole of our community needs beyond our traditional
concert activities with Concert Programs at SPECIAL SCHOOLS, PUBLIC SCHOOL PROGRAMS, DC MUSIC TOURS.
The ensemble will be presenting a set of three Merkin Hall concerts each season with three complementary events in
Washington D. C. and at Drew University, New Jersey.
Sincerely,
David Winkler
Executive Director
